I’ve invented a little game. Any time you watch a film produced in England–whether it be a documentary, a feature film, or a Shakespearean play–look for any actors who have appeared in the Harry Potter series, the Lord of the Rings, Dr. Who, or Game of Thrones.
The documentary we will watch today is a perfect example. Keep your eyes open, and you might see an actor or two from one of these productions.
Oh…and the documentary itself? It is about the Siege of Toulon, and it is actually one of the best dramatizations I have seen in a while. In order to get the most out of the viewing, I will ask each of you to pay careful attention to one of the following:
- the ruthlessness of the revolutionaries
- the incompetence of many of the generals
- Napoleon’s ego
- Napoleon’s military genius
By the way, here is the sway we co-constructed last week.
