Today, we go Old School.

I will divide you into 5 groups. Each group will claim one section of the novel, and find/explore/explain each of the following:

  • one symbol (remember that a symbol is an object/event/thing that has a greater significance than it base value)
  • sacrifice, nobility, and/or love
  • “there are no random acts”
  • the lesson learned
  • fable, journey pattern, or the Other (this is really important; these terms will play a central role in the evaluation we start on Tuesday).

Oh…and to those who expecting a blog entry about Run DMC or GrandMaster Flash and the Furious Five, I offer my sincere apologies.
