CHY 4U 2011: Tying Up Loose Ends

Today, we have a few things to accomplish:

We need to wrap up our discussion of England’s religious turmoil. There is a file in the L Drive that I’d like you to move to your own account; this file contains a timeline of sorts that will help us see the English experience in context. Let’s take a look at this file together.

I’d also like to you do refine your understanding of a few key events from this period by discussing the nature of Revolutions. Once we have done this, I’d like you to create a table that looks something like this, and to complete it to the best of your ability:

Oliver Cromwell The Glorious Revolution
A corrupt or inept leadership is removed from power by force (start where Oliver Cromwell column concludes)
A new government is put in place, intended to correct the errors of the previous government
The new regime becomes so oppressive that it differs from its predecessors only in name
The government is overthrown, and the people support a new and radically different option
