Today, we have a few things to accomplish:
We need to wrap up our discussion of England’s religious turmoil. There is a file in the L Drive that I’d like you to move to your own account; this file contains a timeline of sorts that will help us see the English experience in context. Let’s take a look at this file together.
I’d also like to you do refine your understanding of a few key events from this period by discussing the nature of Revolutions. Once we have done this, I’d like you to create a table that looks something like this, and to complete it to the best of your ability:
|Oliver Cromwell||The Glorious Revolution|
|A corrupt or inept leadership is removed from power by force||(start where Oliver Cromwell column concludes)|
|A new government is put in place, intended to correct the errors of the previous government|
|The new regime becomes so oppressive that it differs from its predecessors only in name|
|The government is overthrown, and the people support a new and radically different option|
