What is Flash?
Adobe Flash is both a program and a format. It is the most widely-used format for media-rich files and sites.
What can be done with Flash?
Key Principles of Flash
- The viewable area of the flash file is called the stage. The user will only see what is on the stage; we can hide objects/images off stage until we need them.
- The flash file consists of layers. We can keep objects in different layers. The objects on the top layer are most visible, while the content on lower layers might be hidden behind them.
- The file also consists of frames. These frames allow the flash animation to change over time. We use a special kind of frame, called a keyframe, to control these animations more efficiently.
