CHW 3M: Writing Your Own “Greatness” Script

Today, you will work in pairs to write a script about greatness. The script will feature two prominent historical figures discussing greatness.
This video will outline the task for you: (look for the video called Greatness under HCC Media)

Here are the requirements:

  • You will choose from Albert Einstein, Winston Churchill, da Vinci, Napoleon, Pocahontas, and Gandhi.
  • Both characters will offer a definition of greatness. While you don’t have to conduct research about the figures you choose, please be accurate. For example, Gandhi should probably not offer a definition of greatness that depends on conquest.
  • Both characters must explain whether or not Alexander the Great meets their definitions of greatness. You should refer to three of  the following moments from Alexander’s life
  • Alexander’s rise to power
  • The Gordian Knot
  • The Battle of Issus
  • The Battle of Gaugamela
